Once home to Singapore's early brickmaking industry, Jurong carries a history shaped by earth, industry and transformation. Light Brick House draws inspiration from this forgotten chapter of the neighbourhood, reinterpreting the humble brick through a contemporary architectural language. A rhythmic composition of perforated masonry creates a delicate balance between privacy and openness, allowing light, air and greenery to filter through. Above, a translucent canopy with a warm timber underside offers a lighter counterpoint to the solidity of brick. Together, these familiar materials form a quiet expression of tropical living, where the industrial memory of Jurong finds new meaning in the intimacy of a home.
